How To Advocate for Yourself at Work

You've gone above and beyond at work, you've demonstrated impact and growth for your team, and you've increased your scope of responsibilities. This is your sign to be your own best advocate and set yourself up for what you want - perhaps it’s a promotion, raise or other career desire.

Panelists will discuss ways to:

  • Advocate for yourself: What are some strategies to effectively ask for a promotion in a 1-1 with your manager? What can you do to prepare yourself for this conversation around career needs, growth and development?

  • Build your roadmap for advancement: Who are people that can help you get to that next level? How can you figure out what steps or skills are required to be promoted? What feedback can you work on to improve your performance?

  • Create a strong case: How do you effectively track your accomplishments and present it to your manager to show impact? What have you done that has made organizational impact and growth to the company, and how can you ensure it is known by leadership especially in our new remote world?
